MotoKas privacy policy.

This policy explains in clear language how MotoKas handles data.

1. What data does MotoKas process?

MotoKas is designed to record data about your motorcycle administration, such as motorcycle information, fuel records, maintenance, odometer readings, tire pressure, costs, motorcycle photos, invoice photos and any saved dealer or garage details. This data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. The recovery history, automatic copies and file encryption described below are available from version 2.7.

2. Local storage on your device

MotoKas uses local storage on your iPhone or iPad and has no account or server of its own for your motorcycle records. Your data stays on your device by default. Exports and backups you choose can be stored outside the device as described below.

3. Location data

MotoKas can use your location to find motorcycle shops, dealers and garages nearby when you choose to activate this in the app. Your location is not continuously tracked, not used in the background and not used for tracking or advertising. MotoKas does not store your location as location history. If you save a dealer or garage, only the selected contact details such as name, address, phone number or website are stored locally in the app.

4. Account and registration

No account is required. You do not need to create a profile to track maintenance, fuel, odometer readings, tire pressure or costs.

5. Photos, export and backups

Motorcycle and invoice photos stay local on your device; text recognition runs on the device. You choose where to save or share PDF reports, CSV files and backups. From version 2.7, complete backup export and restore are free. Backups may contain your records, attachments and preferences. To enable optional automatic copies, first select a folder in Files, for example iCloud Drive or another file provider. MotoKas makes these copies during app use; this is not live synchronization or a guaranteed background upload. The selected provider handles the files under its own terms. Existing copies stay in the selected folder until you remove them. Deleting local data does not remove files already shared or saved elsewhere.

6. RDW license plate check

If you use the RDW license plate check, MotoKas uses public vehicle data to complete motorcycle information. This check does not use owner data.

7. MotoKas Pro and App Store purchases

If you use MotoKas Pro, the purchase or subscription runs through StoreKit and Apple. MotoKas does not receive full payment card details. The app only checks whether you are entitled to Pro features through the App Store.

8. No tracking, ads or selling data

MotoKas does not sell personal data. The app does not use your data for advertising, ad tracking or selling to third parties.

9. Support contact

When you contact us via support@motokas.nl, we process the information you include in your message to answer your question.

10. Website visits and Vercel Web Analytics

The website www.motokas.nl uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand page views and general website visits so we can improve the website. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and stores anonymized analytics data. This website analysis is separate from the local data you store in the MotoKas app on your iPhone.

11. Recovery history and emergency copies

From version 2.7, MotoKas stores up to 20 recovery actions locally for up to 30 days. Expired items are removed when opening or using the app. A local recovery copy is made before deleting an entire motorcycle. Before restoring a backup, the app retains the latest three local recovery copies. If storage cannot be read, emergency recovery preserves the original storage and attachments before creating a new database. An emergency export may contain private information. These local copies do not replace an external backup.

12. App lock and encryption

From version 2.7, you can enable app lock with your device's system security, such as Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. MotoKas does not receive biometric data. When app lock is enabled, shared motorcycle details for Siri and widgets are cleared. Optional encrypted backups use a separate password. MotoKas does not store this password and cannot recover it. App lock does not encrypt previously created external copies.

13. Diagnostics and managing your data

From version 2.7, you can voluntarily share a diagnostic report containing the app version, system version and local error codes. It contains no motorcycle records, photos or invoices and is not sent automatically. You can remove records in the app. Recovery history and local recovery copies may temporarily retain data as described above. Removing the app deletes its associated local app data; manage files already saved elsewhere separately.

14. Future features

If MotoKas later adds features that use online storage, accounts or synchronization, we will update this privacy policy before those features are used.
